Need a good all-around bench for your workouts? Look no further than this Powertec Fitness utility bench, which offers a compact, low-to-the-ground design for easy access and comfort. The bench excels at traditional dumbbell work, with a design that adjusts from the decline position all the way up to 90 degrees. As an alternative, users can also slide it in and out of a rack system with ease. And thanks to the built-in rear wheels, it's a breeze to roll this bench from one room to another or into a closet for storage. Compatible with Powertec's leg lift attachment (sold separately) for abdominal work, the bench measures 50 by 20 by 24 inches (W x H x D), holds up to 500 pounds, and is backed by the following warranties: lifetime on the frame, two years on component parts (such as bearings and spring pins), and one year on pads, grips, and unspecified parts. Powertec Specifications: - Frames: All Powertec frame structures are mig welded and consist primarily of 2 - 4" square and rectangular tubing with a wall thickness of 2.5 mm or 12 gauge. All of our steel materials are of the highest-level grade available.
- Finish: Steel frames are thoroughly cleaned and treated. They are then painted and baked in a hard, durable powder coat finish, which will last a lifetime. Powertec is one of the only consumer companies to offer multiple colors in some select models.
- Components: Parts such as aircraft cable, ball bearing reinforced pulleys, side mounted and linear bearings, nylon precision bushings, and spring loaded pins are all industrial grade to ensure a smooth and quiet operation. PVC scratch guards are located on all weight horns to protect the product from scratching.
- Upholstery: Pads are constructed of 2 _" thick, high-density foam surrounded by top grade upholstery for a firm, contoured feel. All Pads are double stitched and incorporate a backing. Back pads also include a removable clear head wrap. Powertec is also the only company to provide all roller pads with an upholstered finish, which are secured with an aluminum end cap.
- Hardware: Hardware components such as _" nuts, bolts, washers and knobs are all high tensile strength to withstand heavy usage and stress.
- Packaging: Each part is individually wrapped and protected inside and extra strength 10 layer corrugated box designed to minimize damage during shipping. Each product includes and owners manual detailing assembly procedures.
- Testing: Weight capacities are tested to a recommended safe range based on maximum load usage.

This is not a cheap bench, so I was expecting greatness. Now I feel a little let down.
Pros: Adjustable, comfortable, and seems like it will hold up.
Cons:
1. The product I received is different than the product pictured on Amazon. Check Powertec's website. Powertec should have different models for their Utility benches. So far, I can find three distinctly different models of their P-UB bench (the one I got, the one pictured on Amazon, and the non-decline model).
2. The was some minor damage in shipping (a.) small tear in seat pad, b.) scratched frame)
3. The side handles (presumably for leg exercises) get in the way, but they are apparently optional.
4. The installation instructions are lacking. The assembly photos were "okay" - enough for me to follow but I could see were other people would have problems.
5. Usage instructions are non-existent. Completely. Why does the base of the bench have two positions? Should I always screw in the pin lock when using the bench? Is it okay to tighten the pre-assembled bolts to get rid of some of the wobble?
Overall, I do see myself using the bench without problems, but I am dissapointed in several aspects.

I received both the Powertec P-UB bench and the optional leg extension attachment as birthday gifts last month (I specifically asked for both) and really like them. They are both very well made and not particularly hard to put together.
The cushions on the bench and on the leg attachment feel very solid and well-made. The adjustabiliy of the bench is very convenient and my young daughter has no problem reconfiguring it.
All-in-all I am very impressed with both products.

Solid upholstery, good construction. Should last a lifetime if used for home. Was exactly what I wanted for my home. Has spring loaded pull pins for fast adjustment and the option to screw them down so my kids can't pull them.

I bought this from Amazon for $164 (with free shipping!) and it was a great investment. I was looking for the Bowflex SelectTech 3.1 bench to match my Bowflex dumbells, but after finding out it only had 3 incline positions I felt it was not a good deal for $150. The Powertech utility bench on the other hand, takes up less space and has more incline positions. The Powertech bench looks sleek and is very comparable to benches you see at the gym. The steel frame looks heavy duty and it should last a very long time.
