Multiple Machines in One Device The Blaze home gym is similar to having a whole resistance training gym tucked right into your den. Bowflex's lat tower with angled lat bar helps build back and shoulder muscles quickly, and the lower pulley/squat station enables you to do squats and build your glutes, hamstrings and quads. In addition, the Blaze is equipped with a leg extension/leg curl attachment that helps develop strong, muscular legs, and the sliding seat rail allows you to perform aerobic rowing and leg presses to improve your cardiovascular health. And instead of different handles for every exercise, Bowflex has designed triple-function handgrips and ankle cuffs with multiple cable/pulley positions that encourage custom workouts. But if custom workouts isn't your cup of tea, Bowflex also includes a workout placard that steps you through the famous Bowflex 20-minute workout. Power Rod Technology Bowflex Power Rods give you resistance, or weight, that feels as good as or better than free weight lifting -- but without the inertia or risk of joint pain that is almost always associated with free weight strength training. Power Rod units are precisely manufactured under the highest quality control measures, then sheathed and tested four separate times to ensure quality and durability. Bowflex is convinced that the Power Rod units are so strong that you simply can't wear them out. You can flex them repeatedly, but they won't lose their resistance or break. In fact, they're so strong, Bowflex has given the Power Rods a no-time-limit warranty. If you can wear the Power Rods out, Bowflex will replace them for free. The Key to a Better Body strength training is when you perform exercises with resistance to build muscle strength. Strength training is not running on a treadmill, riding a stationary bike, or using a ski or rider machine. Although these types of aerobic machines use "resistance" to increase cardiovascular workout intensity, it is still not the same as strength training. strength training is, essentially, weight lifting. But don't be discouraged; you don't have to get bulky muscles if you don't want to. With Bowflex Blaze you can shape and sculpt your muscles to make your body look the way you want. It just takes persistence and dedication. Why does strength training work better than aerobics for getting fit and losing fat? Because the more muscles you have on your body, the higher your metabolism rate, and the more calories you burn. Muscle also creates the shape of your body -- muscle is what makes you move, it's what gives you energy and strength. Of course, this doesn't mean you should abandon your aerobic exercise -- cardiovascular exercise is necessary for a healthy body -- but the combination of aerobic and strength training will help you achieve your fitness goals. Muscle acts as your body's fat burners. It's the stuff that makes you active and makes you burn calories. If you want to lose fat, you need to strength train with the Bowflex Blaze to add muscles, burn calories, and look fantastic. What's in the Box? Bowflex Blaze home gym, lat bar, leg extension/leg curl attachments, triple-function handgrips and ankle cuffs, 20-minute workout placard, and owner's manual/fitness guide. Manufacturer's Warranty Five-year limited warranty on commercial quality construction and lifetime warranty on Power Rods

Bowflex Blaze August 24, 2008 Bowflex Blaze Home Gym
The box arrived and weighed in at about 225lbs. I was able to fully assemble my Bowflex Blaze, by myself, in about two and a half hours. Allen wrenches are included but you are going to need an adjustable wrench and a rubber mallet (for the base) for assembly. Make sure you pay close attention to the way the parts are shown in assembly and how they are being put together (i.e. what side is facing up, or what type of washers are being used, etc.).
I also ordered the Power Rod upgrades to 310lbs and 410lbs. Installation for both was VERY simple and took a total of five minutes. The bench part can fold up to save space and the base unit has wheels so you can tilt it back and roll it into a corner. I do suggest putting down some scrap carpet or cardboard underneath the unit just to save the wear and tear on whatever surface is underneath it (carpet, hardwood flooring, etc).
I have been using the Blaze daily since I put it together, now going on 4 weeks. I have had NO problems at all! Operation is very smooth and quiet. It really does everything it advertises and then some. For the money, this was definitely worth every cent! Overall, I am very satisfied!
Excellent product June 23, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My son and I put it together in about 4 hours. The written directions were crystal clear and the illustrations were excellent. If you plan to seriously use the machine, you should purchase the 310lb. extension. For some of the exercises, you will exceed 210lbs within a few weeks.
Love My New Bowflex Blaze May 25, 2008 I have had my Bowflex Blaze for about three weeks and I really enjoy using it. I read many reviews about this product before purchasing one and I think it is easy to be mislead by many of them. This home jim is very well built and easy to use. It also folds up easily when you are through. The roller wheels are not easy to use on a carpet, but I don't move my gym other than to fold it back up. Assembly was easy with good instructions and the hardware is packaged so that it is easy to find and use the correct parts. The gym makes no real noise while being used (my old Sears gym squeeked horribly). There are many different exercises that can be done and they seem to be very effective as I can really feel the difference. There has been a lot written about the difference between free weights and the Bowflex rods. I am very happy with the rods as they deliver the right force at the right point of the exercise. I highly recommend the Bowflex Blaze. It is an excellent home gym at a good price!
Amazing product, quick shipping! February 8, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Once set up, this Bowflex works wonders. I can't see why anyone would need the more expensive one. It is a good idea however to get the added weights for it because 210 pounds isn't much for even a 115 pound woman to press with her legs on this machine (it is very smooth and allows for easy movements). The shipping was super quick too. The setup time was pretty lengthy though, taking about 1.5 - 2 hrs total, and you really need to get the hang of switching the equipment to do the next exercise fairly quickly (for the first little bit I would have to look up the next exercise and figure out how to switch the equipment over to do it, and by then my heart rate went back down etc.).
A definite buy though, I use it almost every day and going to the gym just doesn't compare anymore! (except for cardio).
Awesome product very smooth January 21, 2008 The Blaze came in one large box and after reading the reviews about how hard it was going to be to put together I was a little worried, being a woman that is handy it was a breeze my kids even helped they had no problem doing some of the work themselves (they can't even follow lego directions). I bought this for my husband for Christmas and he loves it he says its the smoothest, best equipment he has ever used. Don't let the assembely scare you - you are only going to put it together once anyways! This was an awesome gift and we are all using it - the rowing part is so cool. This is a great home gym we have it in our garage it is a great place for it - it doesn't take up much room out there. The shipping company was even awesome, working around my husbands schedule so he wouldn't be here when it came. Thank you we Love it!
