Product Description The Schwinn 230 Recumbent Bike has a walk-through design and scores of innovative features. It offers a full complement of workout programs including 1 Manual, 6 Profile, Calorie Goal, BMI Measurement, Recovery Test, Results Mode, and Quick Start. The recumbent Bio-Fit Comfort wide seat includes a dual position lumbar support seat back and side bolsters.
Amazon.com Product Description Save money on monthly gym fees and get yourself in shape with the compact, comfortable Schwinn 230 recumbent exercise bike. The 230 boasts many of the high-quality features of the Schwinn 213, but adds several extras, including a nicer, easier-to-read instrument panel with a three-position angle adjustment, a slightly lower pedal height that produces a more comfortable riding position, and an easy step-through frame. And that doesn't even account for all the essentials, which range from 16 resistance levels to handlebars with an integrated heart rate monitor built into the grip. The handiest feature, however, is unquestionably the anatomically designed recumbent seat, which not only offers a dual-position lumbar support for added comfort, but also a micro-adjustable fore/aft seat slider that accommodate a variety of body types and sizes. Other details include six preset programs (calorie goal, BMI measurement, recovery test, results mode, quick start, and manual mode), 10 profile courses, and transport wheels that both protect your floors and make the bike easy to store.
Track your time, interval time, RPM, watts, distance, pulse, speed, calories, and resistance on the 230's LCD console. | Specifications: - 16 resistance levels

Manufacturer's Warranty Frame - 10 years, mechanical and electrical - 1 year, wear items - 6 months, labor - 90 days About Recumbent Exercise Bikes Despite the competition from trendy new fitness inventions, exercise bikes continue to be popular options for home exercise. They offer the same aerobic benefits of riding a bicycle at any time, in any weather, without leaving the comfort and safety of home. Exercise bikes don't take up much space, require little or no balance or coordination, and can provide an effective workout for all levels of users, from beginners to serious competitors. While the same could be said for a number of other types of home fitness equipment, the exercise bike is one of the few that allows you to watch television or read a magazine while you work out. The term recumbent literally means "lying down." Exercising in a recumbent or reclining position allows the user to have full ergonomic back support, without causing strain on the arms, neck and shoulders, all of which can be common effects of using an upright bicycle. For many people, having convenient access to quality exercise equipment is critical to sticking with a long-term exercise program.

great exercise bike September 5, 2008 This is a great choice for at home workout equipment! It's smooth, quiet, comfortable and I love the step thru feature to get on. I like it better than the bikes at the gymn! It has most of the features of a much more expensive bike. It was also easy to assemble! The instructions were easy to follow and all the tools were included. One good tip from one other reviewer...assemble the display panel first and feed the connecting wires down the mounting post. The directions have you doing it the other way around which makes it more difficult.
Great bike! Better than anticipated. August 15, 2008 After doing research on an affordable recumbent exercise bike, my husband and I decided on the Schwinn 230 model. We priced the bike and the pricing was similar from several vendors, but free shipping, plus using an amazon.com reward certificate, we decided to order from amazon. Our only concern was the many negative comments posted regarding the condition of the product and/or shipping box when delivered. Well, our shipment delivery estimate, by the delivery company CEVA, was the 18th, and we were surprised when we were contacted and the delivery was made yesterday, August 13th. The first thing we checked was the condition of the box, and I must say it was in almost perfect condition, no damage except a couple of the corners. My husband and I both have mobility issues, which is why we decided on the recumbent, but from start to finish (opening and sorting the parts then doing the assembly) took about 2 hours. We did take it fairly slow due to our not being able to bend or lift too much weight. The only negative comment would be that we would have liked a couple of extra washers, screws and bolts. We had a little mishap with one washer that fell into the inside of the bike. We both tried it out and it seems pretty comfortable and easy to use. We did appreciate some of the other comments about the order of the assembly. When we got towards the end, we did attach the console and computer wires to the mast prior to attaching the mast to the frame. Overall, we are very happy with the shipment, ease of assembly and overall comfort and sturdiness of the bike.
Complete novice to exercising period, but love this bike! August 14, 2008 Title says it all. No use writing a long description since my knowledge of exercise equipment is nil, just putting a review to give it the stars!
COMPLETELY silent and extremely sturdy, seat VERY comfortable as well. Delivered by ABF, bottom of the front of the package was ripped and crinkled up about 3 inches, rest of the package was in ABSOLUTE perfect condition and no damage whatsoever to the bike nor missing contents.
Big rear (for now!) This is your bike August 11, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Unlike the athletes who have reviewed this bike, I'm fat. I'm losing weight in preparation for WLS. I have issues with my knees, feet and ankles. My doctor recommended a recumbent bike. I looked at many others in Sears, Costco, Sports Chalet and all over online. I read Consumer Reports recommendations (I couldn't find the Schwinn they recommended for sale anywhere). Although I am above the recommended weight for this bike, it is working fine. My knees, feet and ankles feel great. My rear end is not numb after working out. My normal-size husband likes it as well. I've lost the weight my doctor wanted me to lose and I'm still losing (even before the surgery). It is super quiet. I watch tv while I do it and it's over in a flash. The controls are easy to use. I do use a separate heart rate monitor - so I can't comment on the one that comes with the bike. Buy it from Amazon -- free shipping and no sales tax!! You can't beat that. I've had no issues with their delivery people at all.
WONDERFUL Product August 7, 2008 Would buy a second one any day. Thankfully I don't need to because this is a great quality piece. Easy to assemble and use. I have a bad back and the recumbent seat and back is quite comfortable.
