Excellent buy! October 1, 2008 This exercise bike is very easy to assemble and it don't take a lot of space. Mine is in the living room. The bike is quiet and I don't disturb anybody and I can still watch TV and exercise. Bargain!
A good value but questions its long term reliability October 1, 2008 I have this bike for about three months. It works well especially considering its low price. I do, however, have doubt regarding its long-term durability. Its computer stopped working, in addition to some squeaky noises starting to appear.
AWESOME bike, big bike options with little bike price September 18, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We have a huge recumbent bike, we spent over 600 dollars on. It hurt my back to use that one, I thought sitting upright (although not the norm if you have back problems) might be a better option for me. This little bike can be moved around *UNLIKE ITS 600 dollar cousin* It doesn't hurt my back to MOVE or RIDE this bike. It is quiet, so I can watch TV while I workout, or easily listen to music. I use it every other day, for an hour to an hour and a half. my only gripe is the seat is UNFORGIVING!!! very painful to the bottom end. I have dogs, and use a dog "sherpa" (fake lambswool) blanket rolled up on the seat. Man, just a few springs or some extra padding PLEASE. This bike is a five star bike, but the seat KILLED its rating. OUCH. (the homemade remedy of a sherpa on the seat helps...but I wish the seat was more comfortable.) I am 5 ft. 2 inches and with the seat all the way down this bike fits me perfect! It would probably be too large for anyone under five foot tall. It is VERY STURDY.
I purchased this item on amazon through GOLF OUTLETS OF AMERICA. Fast shipping, and the bike arrived in excellent shape. I had it unpacked and assembled in less than 1/2 an hour by myself, and I am NOT mechanically inclined. I highly recommend this bike, but beware of the ouchy seat. Perhaps the manufacturer will make improvements in that department, OR at least offer and upgrade or make an alternate seat available for order. Perhaps my hiney will get used to it, but for now, I'm sitting on the fake sheepskin/fur.
No resistance September 16, 2008 I ordered this bike based on the positive reviews and the awesome, low price. It only took about a half hour to assemble, and takes up very little space in my apartment. I like its size and simplicity, but I was so disappointed as soon as I got on the bike.
I am a moderately fit person who purchased this in hopes to get a good, sweaty, 30 minute cardio workout every day from the comfort of my home. Even at the highest of the 8 levels, the bike has virtually zero resistance. At first, I even thought I may have overlooked something in the assembly process, and had yet to set up the resistance dial. Unfortunately, this is the highest level it goes to. I wish more people had commented on this problem in reviews.
Also, the calories at level 8 increase at an improbable rate. The digital screen says that I am burning almost 1 calorie per 2 seconds, which is not possible at such a low exertion level.
I am thinking I'll have to purchase some small, strap-on ankle weights to add my own resistance to future workouts.
Overall, I like the idea of this bike a lot, but I wish I had known about the resistance problem before I bought it. Maybe this explains the low price??
Good beginner bike August 26, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this bike after reading all of the other reviews about it. I found all of the critiques to be accurate (it's a little small for anyone over 5'10" and the shipping is pricey). My biggest complaint about the bike, though, is the tension setting. Only a couple of reviewers made any mention of it. I've used the bike several times and I have to set it to the highest tension to get a decent workout. I'm a bit disappointed that I don't have anything to work up to - and I'm even not an avid biker or exerciser! I'm 34 in good health and participate in low to moderate physical activity. I do not recommend this bike to people who are looking for gym-quality exercise bike. However, this is a great bike for people who are looking to get a little cardio exercise at home or who may be just getting back into exercising/physical activity.
